A resolution passed and was approved March 20, 1876, paying the respects of the General Assembly to the memory of ex-governor Thomas Bramlette, who had died since the last legislative session. The resolution described him as “brave, generous, gentle, and kind,” as well as “a genial companion, a faithful friend, and an ornament to society.”
This portrait of Governor Bramlette by William Ver Bryck hangs in the Hall of Governors at the Kentucky History Center. Donated by Clara G. Walworth, KHS Collections.
