102 KAR 1:057.Credit for military service.

Section 1.

A member may receive credit toward retirement as provided in KRS 161.507, upon meeting the eligibility requirements and payment of contributions to the Teachers' Retirement System as provided in this administrative regulation. This credit shall be used in meeting the requirements for early retirement.

Section 2.

A member may purchase credit for one (1) month of retirement credit for each month or part of a month of active military service.

Section 3.

A member, having valid service credit in the Teachers' Retirement System and one (1) of the other state supported retirement systems of Kentucky, may elect to purchase retirement credit for active duty time in either of the systems concerned, or the service credit may be divided between the two (2) systems. If the service is to be divided the following additional requirements shall be met:

(1)

The total service credited in all systems shall not exceed six (6) years.

(2)

The same years active duty shall not be used in more than one (1) system.

(3)

Each system shall calculate the cost of this retirement service credit in accordance with the statutes and administrative regulations governing that system.
