Mr. John Cubine, Mr. Jackie Smith, and Mr. Dick Carroll, Office of the Attorney General, discussed with the committee their findings relative to state university food and beverage service contracts. A motion was then made by Senator Long and seconded by Representative Stein for the Government Contract Review Committee to adopt the recommendations of the Office of the Attorney General. The motion passed with Representative Crenshaw ABSTAINING. A motion was made by Senator Long and seconded by Representative Stein to send a letter to the Finance and Administration Cabinet and to the various universities in the Commonwealth to follow the recommendations of the Office of the Attorney General. The motion passed with Representative Crenshaw ABSTAINING. A motion was then made by Senator Long and seconded by Representative Stein to exonerate Kentucky State University of any wrongdoing. The motion passed with Representative Crenshaw ABSTAINING.
The next meeting of the Government Contract Review Committee is scheduled to convene on March 13, 2000, upon adjournment of both chambers of the General Assembly.
