The Government Contract Review Committee met on Tuesday, June 13, 2000 at 10:00 AM, in Room 125 of the Capitol Annex. Representative Brent Yonts, Chair, called the meeting to order, and the committee staff administrator called the roll.

A motion was made by Senator Long and seconded by Representative Stein to approve the Committee Minutes of May 9, 2000. The motion passed unanimously.

A motion was made by Senator Long and seconded by Representative Crenshaw to approve the committee policy. The motion passed unanimously.

Mr. John Walker and Ms. Marcia Morgan, Cabinet for Health Services, discussed the proposed draft committee policy on Maximum Rates for Medical Services. The committee decided to defer the policy to the July 11, 2000 meeting.

The committee discussed several requests for exemption from the committee review process by the Workforce Development Cabinet, Department for Local Government, and Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Cabinet. A motion was made by Senator Long and seconded by Representative Stein to approve the exemptions provided the agencies continue to file the contracts with the committee for informational purposes only. The motion passed with Senator Stine voting NO.
