A motion was made by Senator Long and seconded by Senator Jackson to approve the contract. The motion passed with Representative Heleringer voting NO.

In response to discussions concerning mental health / mental retardation services and announced budget cuts by the Governor, Secretary Marcia Morgan discussed extensive plans for reallocation of funds to provide continued program services by the Cabinet for Health Services. A motion was made by Senator Jackson and seconded by Representative Heleringer to sent correspondence to the Governor requesting that he take steps to slow the growth of prescription pharmaceutical drug costs in the Commonwealth, so Medicaid and Mental Health / Mental Retardation Service Programs are not unduly penalized. The motion passed unanimously.
Due to the existence of a national emergency, a motion was made by Representative Heleringer and seconded by Senator Long to defer all remaining items on the agenda. The motion was passed unanimously.
