The<MeetNo2> 9th meeting of the Government Contract Review Committee was held on<Day> Tuesday,<MeetMDY2> March 14, 2006, at<MeetTime> 9:00 AM, in<Room> Room 125 of the Capitol Annex. Representative Brent Yonts, Chair, called the meeting to order, and the secretary called the roll.

A motion was made by Representative Montell to approve the Minutes of the February 14, 2005, meeting of the committee. Representative Stein seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

 

A motion was made by Representative Crenshaw to consider as reviewed, the Additions List, with exception of those items selected for further review by members of the committee. Senator Scorsone seconded the motion, which passed without objection.

 

A motion was made by Representative Crenshaw to consider as reviewed, the Personal Service Contract List, with exception of those items selected for further review by members of the committee. Senator Scorsone seconded the motion, which passed without objection.

The committee discussed an exemption request from the Department for Workforce Investment for all Memoranda of Agreements created under Title I of the Workforce Investment Act of 1998, which provides funding for approved adult, youth, and dislocated worker services, as well as employment and training services to workers affected by plant closures, mass layoffs, and other major economic factors. A motion was made by Senator Scorsone to grant the request until June 30, 2007. Representative Stein seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
