A motion was made by Representative Stein to approve the Minutes of the April 11, 2005, meeting of the committee. Representative Montell seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

 

A motion was made by Representative Stein to consider as reviewed, the Additions List, with exception of those items selected for further review by members of the committee. Representative Montell seconded the motion, which passed without objection.

 

A motion was made by Representative Stein to consider as reviewed, the Personal Service Contract List, with exception of those items selected for further review by members of the committee. Representative Montell seconded the motion, which passed without objection.

 

A motion was made by Representative Stein to consider as reviewed, the Personal Service Contract Amendment List, with exception of those items selected for further review by members of the committee. Representative Montell seconded the motion, which passed without objection.

 

A motion was made by Representative Stein to consider as reviewed, the Memoranda of Agreement List, with exception of those items selected for further review by members of the committee. Representative Montell seconded the motion, which passed without objection.

A motion was made by Senator Gibson to amend the motion by which items 4-10 were reviewed. Representative Montell seconded the motion, which passed without objection.

 

A motion was made by Senator Gibson to defer item #42 on the Personal Service Contract List; Jeffrey Groob, 2006-436 to the June meeting of the committee. Representative Montell seconded the motion, which passed without objection.

THE FOLLOWING MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT AMENDMENT

WAS SELECTED FOR FURTHER REVIEW:

 

Treasurer Boyd County Board of Education, M-05157973-XXX. Gary Freeland, Barbara Kennedy, and Steve Skank discussed the amendment with the committee. A motion was made by Representative Stein to consider the amendment as reviewed. Representative Crenshaw seconded the motion, which passed with Senator Tori and Representative Montell voting NO.

 

REQUESTS FOR EXEMPTION

 

POSTSECONDARY EDUCATION, DEPARTMENT FOR:

Dennis Taulbee requested an exemption for filing all adult education and GEAR UP contracts. The department would be required to file a quarterly report with the committee. A motion was made by Representative Crenshaw to approve the exemption. Representative Stein seconded the motion, which passed without objection.

 

TRANSPORTATION CABINET:

Tim Pollard requested authorization to increase the cap on appraisal and expert court witness contracts from $25,000 per modification to $100,000 per modification. A motion was made by Representative Crenshaw to approve the request. Representative Montell seconded the motion, which passed without objection.

 

A motion was made by Representative Crenshaw to approve requests from the Governor's Office for Local Development, Department of Education, and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to allow for extensions beyond the current biennium for time only. Representative Stein seconded the motion, which passed without objection.
