Newport Independent Board of Education, M-06172389. Pauline Carr and Gary Freeland discussed the agreement with the committee. A motion was made by Senator Gibson to consider the agreement as reviewed without objection. Senator Tori seconded the motion, which failed to receive a majority of votes; Representative Crenshaw, Representative Stein, and Representative Yonts voting NO.
A motion was made by Representative Yonts to have letter drafted, on behalf of the committee, requesting and opinion from the Office of the Attorney General regarding the Commonwealth of Kentucky's ability to utilize funds to benefit religious organizations. Representative Stein seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Alex Whitenack provided an update on implementation of eMARS, and requested that committee consider as reviewed and authorized, all documents submitted in MARS prior to June 23, 2006, for purposes of conversion from MARS to eMARS. He informed the committee that they would have an opportunity to object to or disapprove all documents at the regularly scheduled meeting in July.
