Minutes of the<MeetNo1> 501st Meeting

 

<MeetMDY1> March 25, 2003

 

The<MeetNo2> 501st meeting of the Legislative Research Commission was held on<Day> Tuesday,<MeetMDY2> March 25, 2003, at<MeetTime> 2:00 PM, in<Room> Room 327 of the Capitol. Senator David L. Williams, Chair, called the meeting to order, and the secretary called the roll.

 

Present were:

 

Members:<Members> Senator David L. Williams, Co-Chair; Senators Charlie Borders, Bob Jackson, Daniel Kelly, Richard Roeding, Elizabeth Tori, Johnny Ray Turner, Ed Worley; Representatives Bob DeWeese and Ken UpChurch.

 

LRC Staff:  Bobby Sherman and Diana Hill.

 

President Williams called the meeting to order. He said that the meeting was called pursuant to KRS 7:090 and Rule 3 of the Rules of the Commission. It was the finding of the Chair that the meeting was of an emergency nature, due to the fact that some of the committees being appointed were scheduled to meet shortly. This was also the last day of the 2003 General Assembly, and members of the Commission would soon be leaving town. The agenda reflected those emergency matters to be addressed.

The meeting was publicized by delivery of written notice to each Commission member and by distribution of written notice to the Capitol Press Corps.

It was the further finding of the Chair that the meeting was properly convened in accordance with the Rules of the Commission, and any LRC Rules to the contrary were suspended.

Chairman Williams asked for a motion to confirm the finding of the Chair. The motion was made by Senator Roeding, and seconded by Senator Tori. The motion was adopted by voice vote.

A motion was made and seconded to recess until 3:00 p.m. At that time, another motion was made to reconvene at 4:00 p.m. Upon reconvening, there being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 11:15 p.m.
