AN ACT relating to special license plates for colleges and universities.
Create a new section of KRS 186.186 to 186.187, regarding special license plates, to establish an independent collegiate license plate, set forth design characteristics, establish additional fees of $10 for initial plate and $10 for renewal, and direct additional fees to the general scholarship funds of the individual schools.

HB 118 - AMENDMENTS

HCS/LM - Retain provisions of original bill with the following changes: make technical correction to section heading; provide for the plate to display a logo of the Kentucky Association of Independent Colleges and Universities rather than a logo of each college; clarify that the person purchasing the plate may select a decal bearing the name of the college or university of their choice to appear on the plate; delete provision providing for additional funds paid for the plate to be sent to the general scholarship fund of each individual college and provide for additional moneys to be sent to the Kentucky Association of Independent Colleges and Universities for distribution to the general scholarship funds of the Association's members.
SCS/LM - Retain provision of GA copy and add a new Section 2 to amend KRS 186.185, relating to collegiate license plates, to increase the initial fee collected for the general scholarship fund of a university from five dollars to ten dollars; provide for a new fee of ten dollars to be collected annually on the renewal of a collegiate license plate and paid to the general scholarship fund of the university whose name is borne on the plate.
