AN ACT relating to registered nurses.
Amend KRS 314.181 to permit a registered nurse to pronounce a patient in a hospital or nursing facility dead; require verification by the nurse's immediate supervisor.
HB 186 - AMENDMENTS
HCS - Retain original provisions; permit registered nurses to determine death of a patient whose circulation and respiration are not being artificially maintained; delete requirement that the registered nurse's supervisor verify the death; and require the nurse to notify the patient's physician according to the hospital's or facility's policy.
