AN ACT relating to child support.
Amend KRS 403.213 to permit extension of child support up to age 23 while child pursues higher education; require parent, custodian, or child to petition court for extension; require showing that child has enrolled or been enrolled in a business school, college, school of nursing, or vocational school, that child remains dependent, that child is actively pursuing course of study of at least 12 credits or credit hours, that child be in good academic standing, and that there has been no more than a 4 month gap in study between the child's most recent semester in school; permit court to take child's needs and desires and the parents' expectations into consideration; permit court to award support as tuition payment to the institution, or to the child as a continuation or modification of a prior support order, or to a parent if the child is residing with that parent; permit court to terminate order if child no longer meets criteria for the award of support under this section.
