HB 243 (BR 556) - G. Stumbo

     AN ACT relating to reorganization.
     Amend KRS 36.310 to expand the membership of the Advisory Board for Veteran's Affairs to include the commissioner of the Department of Veterans' Affairs, the executive director of the Kentucky Commission on Military Affairs, and the adjutant general of the Commonwealth; confirm Executive Order 99-1588, dated December 3, 1999.

HB 243 - AMENDMENTS


     HCS - Retain provisions of HB 243 except for changes the number of members appointed by the Governor from five (5) to seven (7) in order to comply with Executive Order 97-1161; remove the commissioner of the Department of Veterans' Affairs from membership of the advisory board; correct executive order number; confirm Executive Order 97-1161; add the provision that if HB 139 becomes law, the provisions of the bill will be merged into HB 139.
     SCA (1, A. Robinson) - Retain provisions of HB 243 except delete requirement that the Veterans' Advisory Board advise the Governor on the administration of veterans' service programs; delete requirement that the Veterans' Advisory Board advise the General Assembly on matters relating to veterans' affairs; require the commissioner of the Department of Veterans' Affairs to advise the Governor and General Assembly on matters relating to veterans' affairs.
