AN ACT relating to special YMCA license plates.
Create a new section of KRS Chapter 186 to authorize the creation of a special YMCA of Greater Louisville license plate; require the Transportation Cabinet to print the plate upon receipt of 900 applications within a one-year period; establish fee of $63 for the first 900 plates printed to be divided as follows: $50 state fee to the cabinet to offset computer programming costs, $3 county clerk fee, and a $10 fee to be remitted to the Southwest Family Branch of the YMCA of Greater Louisville to be used exclusively to provide financial assistance to financially disadvantaged families and individuals; provide for the initial fee for every special YMCA of Greater Louisville license plate printed in excess of 900 to be $25 divided as follows: $12 state fee to the cabinet, $3 county clerk fee, $10 fee to the YMCA; provide for annual renewal fee to be $20 divided as follows: $12 state fee to the cabinet, $3 county clerk fee, $5 fee to the YMCA; require the money remitted to the Southwest Family Branch of the YMCA of Greater Louisville to be deposited into a special account that is to be audited annually for compliance by the cabinet; establish design of the plate.
HB 282 - AMENDMENTS
HCS/LM - Retain provisions of original bill with the following changes: expand provisions to issue a special YMCA license plate, delete provisions limiting plate to YMCAs of greater Louisville; establish state YMCA program fund; provide for extra fee charged for a YMCA license plate to be deposited into the fund that is to be administered by the Transportation Cabinet; establish procedures for money in the fund to be distributed to YMCAs statewide by the Transportation Cabinet.
HCA (1/Title, H. Collins) - Amend the title to read as follows: "An Act relating to special YMCA license plates."
