HB 290 (BR 1344) - M. Treesh
AN ACT relating to certified professional counselors.
Amend KRS 335.515 to include licensed professional counseling boards; create a new section of KRS 335.500 to 335.599 to allow for reciprocity of certification with other states.
HB 290 - AMENDMENTS
HCS - Retain original provisions, delete provision permitting board to establish reciprocity with any state, rather than a state with requirements as high as Kentucky's; require applicant for endorsement to meet the 60-hour graduate educational requirement.
HFA (1, J. Jenkins) - Make technical ccorrection.
HFA (2, M. Treesh) - Retain original requirements, except delete provision requiring that out-of-state applicant who is licensed in another state meet same educational requirements and require that subject matter of courses for out-of-state applicant be the same as that required of other applicants.
SCS - Retain original provisions except delete language requiring the certification or licensure requirements of other states to be as high as Kentucky's; add "specialist" degree to the list of degrees qualifying an applicant for certification; increase from 2 to 3 the number of years of professional experience an applicant who is licensed or certified in another state must have in order to quality for certification by endorsement in Kentucky.
