HB 339 (BR 1446) - T. Riner

     AN ACT relating to governmental ethics.
     Amend KRS 6.606 to state that confidence in the integrity of government and public officials is advanced when legislative agents or employers refrain from supporting political fund-raisers to benefit political campaigns for the General Assembly while the General Assembly is in session.

HB 339 - AMENDMENTS


     HCS - Require legislative agents and their employers to refrain from supporting the fundraisers.
     HFA (1, M. Treesh) - Create a new section of KRS Chapter 45 to prohibit the use of state property to solicit or secure funds for a candidate or slate of candidates, a political party, or a committee formed in support of or controlled by a political party.
     HFA (2, M. Treesh) - Create a new section of KRS 6.601 to 6.849 to prohibit a member of the General Assembly from using state property to solicit or secure funds for a candidate or slate of candidates, a political party, or a committee formed in support of or controlled by a political party; deem a violation ethical misconduct.
     HFA (3, M. Treesh) - Retain original; create new sections of KRS Chapters 6 and 11A to prohibit any person subject to the Legislative Code of Ethics or the Executive Branch Code of Ethics from using state property for the purpose of soliciting or securing funds for candidates, political parties, or committees formed in support of or controlled by a political party; penalties.
