     AN ACT relating to public school calendars.
     Amend KRS 158.070 to require schools to be closed on the third Monday of January in observance of the birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr.; permit districts to designate the day as one of the four holidays or to not include the day in the minimum school term.

HB 347 - AMENDMENTS


     HCS/FN - Retain original provisions and repeal provisions in KRS 118.025 and KRS 158.060 to require public schools to close on any day of a regular election.
     HFA (1, K. Upchurch) - Require all public schools to be closed on the eleventh day of November in observance of Veterans Day.
     SCA (1, L. Casebier) - Amend KRS 158.070 to delete requirement that schools be closed on election day.
