AN ACT relating to the certification of interior designers.
Create new sections of KRS Chapter 198B permitting an interior designer who meets certain requirements to be certified as a Kentucky certified interior designer; create and define responsibilities of a Kentucky certified interior designer; define responsibilities of the Department of Housing, Buildings and Construction for issuing a certificate as a Kentucky certified interior designer and administering the certification process; impose penalties for falsifying an application for certification or renewal and the improper use of the title "Kentucky certified interior designer" for those not so certified.
HB 393 - AMENDMENTS
HCS - Retain original bill provisions, except delete the definition of the practice of interior design; transfer administrative responsibility for the certification of interior designers from the Department of Housing, Buildings, and Construction to the State Board of Examiners and Registration of Architects; clarify grandfather provision; increase the number of hours of continuing education required to renew a certificate; require the Governor to appoint one additional member to the board to represent interior designers.
