HB 410/FN/LM/CI (BR 224) - J. Richards

     AN ACT relating to crimes and punishment.
     Amend KRS 527.030, relating to defacing a firearm, to increase the penalty from a Class A misdemeanor to a Class D felony; amend KRS 527.050 relating to possession of a defaced firearm to increase the penalty from a Class A misdemeanor to a Class D felony.

HB 410 - AMENDMENTS


     HCS/FN/CI - Clarify that there must be intent to permanently deface firearm. Provide that the fact that a laboratory can restore a number does not negate an intent to permanently deface the firearm.
     HFA (1, R. Thomas) - Technical correction add the word "and" prior to the new intent language.
     SFA (1, R. Roeding) - Include in the crime of criminal homicide a criminal homicide committed against an unborn child; exempt certain physicians from being guilty of criminal homicide committed against an unborn child; exempt a mother from being guilty of criminal homicide committed against an unborn child.
