AN ACT relating to sports.
Amend KRS 229.051 to require that a permit be issued before a person can promote or act as a booker for a professional boxing or wrestling match or exhibition and require that the promoter or booker file bond; amend KRS 229.081 to permit the commission to promulgate administrative regulations governing persons, other than those enumerated in statute, who by virtue of their employment participate in boxing and wrestling events; amend KRS 229.101 to eliminate the provision permitting championship matches to be more than 12 rounds; amend KRS 229.111 to permit the commission to promulgate administrative regulations setting out the health and fitness requirements of the contestants; amend KRS 229.240 to expand authority of peace officers to permit them to prevent a professional match from occurring that violates the statutes and corresponding administrative regulations; amend KS 229.991 to increase lower end of fine from $25 to $100.
