AN ACT relating to circuit clerks and declaring an emergency.
Create noncodified sections to extend the filing deadline for candidates for the office of Circuit Clerk for the 2000 election only to March 15, 2000, require that the election be conducted by supplemental paper ballot and the cost borne by the county; require that the drawing for ballot position be held on March 17, 2000, and that any previous drawing for ballot position is null and void, make provisions retroactive as necessary to effectuate the provisions of the act, declare an emergency.
HB 586 - AMENDMENTS
HCS - Retain provisions of bill; delete provision for use of supplemental ballots; change references from November general election to May primary election; add provision extending deadline for certification of circuit clerk candidates' names from February 7 to March 24, 2000.
