AN ACT relating to operator's licenses.
Amend KRS 186.412, regarding operator's licenses, to require compliance with vision standards to receive or renew an operator's license and to have circuit clerks administer vision tests; amend KRS 186.480, regarding state police examination of drivers' license applicants, to remove state police responsibility for testing an applicant's vision and to require the state police to promulgate administrative regulations to establish vision standards for obtaining a driver's license; amend KRS 186.444, regarding the medical review board, to direct the board to hear cases of individuals denied a license for failure to meet vision standards; create a new section of KRS 186.400 to KRS 186.640 and amend KRS 320.321, to allow for disciplinary action against ophthalmologists and optometrists who falsify vision statements; direct that vision testing machines presently used by the state police be transferred to the Transportation Cabinet to be distributed to the circuit clerks.
