AN ACT relating to public library services.
Amend KRS 171.201 to create the public library services improvement and equalization fund, define the purpose for the use of fund proceeds, set requirements for the use of funds, provide the formula for fund distribution, and make an appropriation to the fund of $6,000,000 for the 2001-2002 fiscal year.

HCS - Retain original; include adult education and adult literacy programs as an area for the expenditure of foundation grants; establish a public library facilities construction fund to assist local libraries with debt service payments for new library facilities and library improvements; appropriate $6,000,000 in the fiscal year beginning on July 1, 2001 and each year thereafter.
