HCR 44 (BR 1200) - J. Coleman, T. Burch, R. Damron, M. Marzian, S. Nunn

     Direct the Legislative Research Commission to establish a thirty member task force to complete a study to identify the barriers to quality end-of-life care, identify strategies to improve access to quality end-of-life care that is based upon patients' and families' desires, identify ways to strengthen accountability to determine whether quality care is being delivered, and identify payment methods for delivering a seamless system of care; require a final report submission by September 1, 2001 to the Legislative Research Commission; and estimate the cost of task force staff services at $30,000.

HCR 44 - AMENDMENTS


     SCS - Amend provisions of current resolution to clarify that task force is not to study or support health care provider assisted suicide or euthenasia, reduce membership of task force, provide that task force members to be selected by the Senate President and Speaker of the House, provide that resolution shall be void on January 1, 2002.
     SCA (1/Title, A. Robinson) - Make title amendment
     SFA (2, E. Tori) - Retain provisions of committee substitute, amend fourth WHEREAS clause on page 1, and delete the third and fourth WHEREAS clauses on page 2 in their entirety.
