     Direct the Public Protection and Regulation Cabinet and the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Cabinet to enter into a memorandum of understanding to better coordinate their respective responsibilities regarding the underground petroleum storage tank program; provide for information to be provided to members of the General Assembly.

HJR 70 - AMENDMENTS


     HCS - Retain original provisions; broaden and clarify the purpose of the agreement to include, for example, to set out that the cabinet's technical review of site investigations and remediation plans be conducted in a way that requires protection of health, safety, and the environment.
     SFA (1, T. Shaughnessy) - Prohibit the Office of Petroleum Storage Tank Environmental Assurance Fund from opening new cases after July 15, 2000, or paying claims on cases opened after that date.
