AN ACT relating to dentists and dental hygienists.
Amend KRS 313.035 to require an applicant for a student limited license to be a graduate of an accredited dental school; require submission of a justification and dossier from the dean of the dental school; remove requirement for full-time faculty member status; amend KRS 313.040 to require dental licensure applicants to be graduates of an accredited dental college; prohibit an applicant from filing false, misleading, or deceptive information on application; amend KRS 313.045 to revise requirements for licensing without examination; remove fee amounts; give board authority by administrative regulations to set fees; amend KRS 313.070 to remove fee amounts and give board authority to set fee by administrative regulations; amend KRS 313.130 to give board authority to fine for specific causes; amend KRS 313.140 to include unlicensed persons in definition of unprofessional conduct and remove advertising for dental patronage in definition; amend KRS 313.200 to remove the set compensation for board members and give board authority to set amount by administrative regulations; amend KRS 313.300 to revise application requirements for dental hygienists; require fees to be set by the board by administrative regulations; change licensing renewal to (2) calendar years; amend KRS 313.303 to add requirement of (5) years of active practice as licensed dental hygienist in other state for licensure without exam; remove specific fee and give board authority to set fee by administrative regulations.
SB 121 - AMENDMENTS
SFA (1, D. Boswell) - Add a specific amount not to be exceeded for application, licensing, and examination fees set by administrative regulations for dentists and dental hygienists; add a specific amount not to be exceeded for board compensation that is set by administrative regulations.
HCS - Retain original provisions; amend to create a new section of KRS Chapter 313 establishing the denturitry pilot project for the provisional licensing of denturists; create and define the responsibilities of denturists; create and define responsibilities of the denturitry oversight committee of the Office of Aging Services within the Cabinet for Health Services to include complaint monitoring; establish penalties for denturists; prohibit the practice of denturitry without a license; establish the information required for submission by licensed denturists; require submission of report to the Legislative Research Commission by July 1, 2005 regarding denturitry pilot project.
HCA (1/Title, T. Burch) - Make title amendment.
HFA (1, T. Burch) - Make technical correction.
HFA (2, J. Turner) - Remove all provisions relating to denturists and the practice of denturitry.
