SB 201 (BR 1989) - J. Westwood
AN ACT relating to the establishment of 911 emergency telephone service by local governments.
Amend KRS 65.760 to allow the Department of State Police to establish and operate a 911 emergency telephone and wireless service in any area not served by a local government; allow the Department of State Police to enter into agreements with local governments to provide 911 emergency services to local governments; amend KRS 65.7631 to conform.
SB 201 - AMENDMENTS
SCS (1) - Retain original provisions of the bill and clarify that the State Police may establish 911 emergency wireless telephone service in areas not served by local governments.
SCS (2) - Retain provisions of the original bill but clarify that when a local government implements an emergency 911 service in an area covered by the State Police, surcharge money shall revert to the local government.
SFA (1, M. Long) - Add a new section of KRS Chapter 367 to establish a "zero call list" for persons over 70 years of age who do not want to receive telephone solicitations; create a new section of KRS Chapter 367 to make the foregoing an unfair trade practice.
SFA (2/Title, M. Long) - Make title amendment.
