AN ACT relating to merit scholarship awards.
     Amend KRS 156.160 to permit the certification of nonpublic schools on criteria including the adoption of the uniform grading scale; amend KRS 164.7874 to define terms including "eligible student," "high school," and "numerical grading average"; amend KRS 164.7879 to establish amounts for merit scholarships based on a uniform numerical grading scale and require the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority to provide awards based on the numerical grading scale after the 2000-2001 academic year; amend KRS 164.7881 to establish qualifications for designation as a Jeff Green Scholar; amend KRS 164.7885 to require high schools to report the numerical grade average of eligible students.
