SB 259 (BR 2146) - D. Seum

     AN ACT relating to boards of directors for community colleges.
     Amend KRS 164.600 to add a staff member to the board of directors for community colleges; staff member must be a classified or mid-management employee who does not hold faculty rank.

SB 259 - AMENDMENTS


     SFA (1, B. Bailey) - Retain the provisions of SB 257, and create a new section of KRS Chapter 164 to require community and technical colleges to have student government association chapters; require a student government association chapter to elect a president and reflect the standards of regional university student government association chapters; provide that the student government association chapter presidents will elect the student representatives to the KCTCS Board of Regents; amend KRS 164.321 to specify the requirements for a student representative to the KCTCS Board of Regents, and specify that student members will be elected by secret ballot by student government association chapter presidents.
     SFA (2/Title, B. Bailey) - Make title amendment.
