AN ACT relating to the hiring of school principals.
     Amend KRS 160.345 to require a school council to review all applications for principal and make recommendations to the superintendent; require the superintendent to consider the recommendations of and consult with the council, but permit the superintendent to select a principal from all applicants; require the superintendent to select a principal from applicants if the school council does not submit recommendations; exempt the position of principal from the requirements that personnel decisions made under this subsection are binding on the superintendent, and that the superintendent provide additional applicants upon request; and change existing references from the "chief state school officer" to the "commissioner of education."
