SB 339/FN (BR 2264) - R. Roeding, T. Buford, T. Shaughnessy, K. Stine, J. Westwood, D. Williams
AN ACT relating to hospitals and declaring an emergency.
Create a new section of KRS Chapter 205 to define "acute care hospital," "private psychiatric hospital," "state mental hospital," and "university hospital"; amend KRS 205.640 to require MART payments to be transferred to Department for Medicaid Services on a quarterly basis; provide for disproportionate share payments to defined terms; create new section of KRS Chapter 205 to establish maximum disproportionate share payments and to require certain payments to be made within 45 days of effective date; EMERGENCY.
SB 339 - AMENDMENTS
SCS/FN - Retain original provisions; require hospital to submit supporting documentation for indigent care data if requested by Department for Medicaid Services; clarify that no hospital shall bill a patient for services if the patient's family has an income under 100% of the federal poverty level; clarify that an outpatient health facility that obtains a license in response to a Medicare prospective payment system regulation shall not eliminate the requirement for a certificate of need if one would otherwise be required.
