AN ACT relating to certificate of need.
Amend KRS 216B.040 to reserve, for a period of twenty-four (24) months, health facility beds, major medical equipment, or services that have been closed for applications for any certificate of need to reestablish the same services, in whole or in part, within the same county; permit any person to enter into a contract to acquire, in whole or in part, any of a closed health facility's beds, major medical equipment, or the services offered to another location within the same county; permit the relocation to more than one (1) location if the beds remain in the same county; and require any person proposing to acquire or relocate any health facility or health service to give notification to the cabinet.

SCS/FN - Retain original provisions; make technical correction.
SFA (1, C. Borders) - Retain original provisions; amend 216B.040 to reserve any closed health facility beds, major medical equipment, or services for applications for any certificate of need to reestablish the same services, in whole or in part, within the same county for 24 months after the effective date of this Act or for 24 months after the closure of the beds, equipment, or services, whichever is longer.
