AN ACT relating to retirement.
Amend KRS 16.505, 61.510, 61.592, and 78.510 to provide hazardous employees in the Kentucky Employees Retirement System "high 3" benefits--in practice since 1998 based on an Attorney General's Opinion--and require these employees to pay the same as others receiving the benefit; make technical corrections to SPRS and CERS.
SB 87 - AMENDMENTS
SCS/AA - Retain original provisions and amend KRS 61.637 to allow a person formerly on disability retirement who had at least 240 months of service and whose disability was terminated on September 1, 1998, and who was reemployed as of the effective date of this Act, to be treated under the pre-July 15, 1998, provisions of KRS 61.637.
SCA (1/Title, A. Robinson) - Make title amendment.
HFA (1, F. Rasche) - Retain original provisions of GA bill and provide for transfer from the Legislators' retirement plan if member pays difference between contributions and cost to the receiving retirement system as calculated by the system's actuary.
HFA (2, J. Barrows) - Amend KRS 61.510 and KRS 78.510 to define final compensation for nonhazardous employees whose effective retirement is between August 1, 2000, and January 31, 2005, and whose total years of service credit equals at least twenty-seven years and whose total age and years of service equals seventy-five to mean the three fiscal years that they employee was paid at the highest average monthly rate divided by the number of months of service credit during that three year period multiplied by twelve; provide that the funding be provided from existing funds of the retirement allowance account.
