     AN ACT relating to high school athletics.
     Amend KRS 156.070 to delete varsity wrestling from the list of prohibited high school sports for seventh and eighth grade students.

HB 191 - AMENDMENTS


     HCA (1, F. Rasche) - Amend to provide that nonteaching personnel may serve as coaches in all sports, including basketball and football.
     HFA (1, J. Draud) - Amend KRS 156.070 to require that administrative regulations dealing with coaching positions in interscholastic athletics to give preference in employment or assignment to certified personnel and be consistent for all sports and activities in the employment of noncertified personnel.
     HFA (2, L. Napier) - Amend to require the Kentucky Board of Education to promulgate an administrative regulation to prohibit public schools from selling or distributing drinks other than those that are substantially based on fruit juice.
     HFA (3/Title, L. Napier) - Make title amendment.
     HFA (4, B. Yonts) - Amend to permit students who attend regional and state athletic tournaments to receive an excused absence if the student produces a ticket stub or other traceable documentation of having attended the athletic tournament; emergency effective date.
     HFA (5/Title, B. Yonts) - Make title amendment and declaring an emergency.
     SCA (1, L. Casebier) - Amend to combine provisions in Section 1(2)(d) and (e) dealing with administrative regulations to be promulgated by the state board or the agency designated by the board to manage interscholastic athletics into one paragraph for clarity.
