AN ACT relating to criminal records checks.
Amend KRS 161.148 to provide that criminal records checks for school volunteers are valid for a period of five years unless the school board determines an additional check is needed earlier based on hearsay or actual evidence; provide that students in an educational institution that observe or participate in educational activities under the supervision of a teacher or administrator are exempt from the provisions of KRS 161.148; amend KRS 161.042 and 160.380 to specify that students teachers are required to have criminal records checks.
