AN ACT relating to homeless veterans.
Amend KRS 40.340 to give Kentucky Department of Veterans' Affairs oversight authority and responsibility for federal grant money for Kentucky Homeless Veterans Program; require organizations operating within the Commonwealth and applying for or receiving federal grants for homeless veterans to be certified by the Department of Veterans' Affairs pursuant to administrative regulations and policies.
HB 221 - AMENDMENTS
HCS - Amend KRS 40.340 to give the Department for Veterans' Affairs oversight authority to coordinate programs for homeless veterans; require the Commissioner of the Department for Veterans' Affairs to make recommendations to the General Assembly on ways to improve services to homeless veterans; require the Department for Veterans' Affairs, if requested, to review homeless veterans' programs of Kentucky organizations, to write endorsement letters, and to provide technical assistance.
