AN ACT relating to workers' compensation.
     Amend KRS 342.040 to require workers' compensation insurance carriers, prior to terminating an injured employee's temporary total disability payments, to obtain: 1) a written statement from the employee's treating physician, or 2) an independent medical evaluation report from one of the university medical schools, as provided under KRS 342.315, or the Pikeville School of Osteopathic Medicine, stating that the employee may return to work or has reached maximum medical improvement.
