HB 236 (BR 1032) - R. Thomas
AN ACT relating to health insurance for public employees.
Amend KRS 18A.225 to define which public employees either are or can be included in the state-sponsored health insurance group; allow all employees of regional universities to be in the group if their university chooses to join; allow employees who are under contract with the state, if the state provides the state contribution toward a retirement plan, to be included in the state-sponsored health insurance group.
HB 236 - AMENDMENTS
HFA (1, R. Thomas) - Provide under the state employee health insurance program for a procedure to appeal a formulary change.
SCS - Retain original provisions of the bill except provide in Section 1(1)(b) to include any person who is regularly employed by a public postsecondary educational institution whose board of regents has opted to participate in the state-sponsored health insurance program; provide in Section 1(2) that any agency that chooses to participate in the state-sponsored health insurance plan shall continue to participate as long as the agency participates in any state-administered retirement system; provide that any eligible agency not already participating in the state-sponsored health insurance program may elect to enroll its employees in the program.
