HB 249 (BR 1151) - T. Feeley, J. Draud, G. Graham
AN ACT relating to restricting a local superintendent of schools from employing a relative of a candidate for the local board of education of the superintendent's district.
Amend KRS 160.380 to prohibit a superintendent from employing a relative of an individual who has filed a petition seeking a seat on the local board of education of the superintendent's district between the time of filing and the certification of the election.
HB 249 - AMENDMENTS
HCA (1, T. Feeley) - Amend to delete the reference to "certification of the election" with "time that the newly-elected board member takes the oath of office".
HFA (1, M. Treesh) - Amend to add a provision to permit that effective July 1, 2002 a classified employee of a district who has had four (4) or more consecutive annual contracts may continue to be employed by a district if a relative is elected to the school board.
HFA (2, M. Treesh) - Amend to add a provision to permit that effective July 1, 2002 a classified employee of a district who has had four (4) or more consecutive annual contracts or a tenured certified employee may continue to be employed by a district if a relative is elected to the school board.
