HB 46/AA (BR 203) - R. Damron, B. Colter, W. Scott
AN ACT relating to retirement.
Amend KRS 61.552 to allow members of any state-administered retirement system to purchase uncredited probationary time by paying 50% of value determined by the Board.
HB 46 - AMENDMENTS
HCS/AA - Retain original provisions but require affected persons to pay 100% of the actuarial cost, rather than 50%, as determined by the system.
SCS/AA - Retain provision of GA version of bill, amend KRS 61.552 to allow an employee participating in the Kentucky Retirement System, who has at least 48 months of service if age 65, or at least 60 months of service if under age 65, to purchase of school board time, amend KRS 61.600 to authorize the filing of a new application for disability benefits for the preexisting disease of poliomyelitis though previously denied if the application is filed by December 31, 2001; amend KRS 16.645, 78.545, and create a new section of KRS Chapter 61.515 to 61.702 to provide that retirement service credit purchased shall not be included in the member's total service for determining medical insurance benefits under KRS 61.702.
