HJR 30/FN (BR 942) - H. Moberly

     Create a task force on tax reform composed of members of the House, Senate, and Executive Branch; require report to the Legislative Research Commission no later than November 1, 2001.

HJR 30 - AMENDMENTS


     HCA (1, D. Ford) - Add that the task force's legislative members shall reflect the parties' proportional representation in the House and Senate.
     SCS/FN - Delete the original provisions and create the Tax Policy Issues Subcommittee of the Appropriations and Revenue Committee to study tax policy issues; provide for the appointment of members and that the House and Senate Chair of the Appropriations and Revenue Committee shall serve as co-chairs; provide that the subcommittee is authorized to meet on the regular meeting date for the Interim Joint Committee on Appropriations and Revenue according to the most recent interim meeting calendar approved by a majority of the Legislative Research Commission; request the Governor through designees to make recommendation to the subcommittee for consideration by the committee; provide that the Governor shall designate executive branch employees with expertise in the various areas to be studied by the subcommittee to present data, research, and testimony to the subcommittee; provide that the subcommittee may employ consultants if approved by LRC; provide the subcommittee shall report to the Interim Joint Committee on Appropriations and Revenue prior to the start of the 2002 Regular Session; provide that the subcommittee shall cease to exist April 15, 2002.
