SB 131 (BR 435) - L. Casebier
AN ACT relating to volunteers in public schools.
Amend KRS 161.148 to exclude parents or guardians of children attending public schools from the definition of "volunteer" and to permit other individuals to serve as volunteers pending a criminal background report back from the Administrative Office of the Courts.
SB 131 - AMENDMENTS
SCS - Delete the exemption for parents and guardians to have a criminal records check to volunteer in the public schools.
SFA (1, G. Neal) - Require the volunteer to sign an affidavit confirming that he or she has no convictions under KRS 17.160(1) and other offenses the school district may add; technical correction.
SFA (2, G. Neal) - Require the volunteer to sign an affidavit confirming that he or she has no convictions under KRS 17.160(1) and other offenses the school district may add; prohibit the individual from having unsupervised responsibility for students until the report is received; technical correction.
