HB 112/FN (BR 852) - M. Weaver, M. Denham, T. Riner

     AN ACT relating to waiver of postsecondary tuition for dependents of veterans.
     Create a new section of KRS Chapter 164 to add definitions of "deployed" and "resident" regarding college tuition waiver programs for deceased veterans' dependents; authorize promulgation of administrative regulations by the Kentucky Department of Veterans' Affairs; amend KRS 164.507 to allow a tuition waiver to dependents of veterans who served during any war declared by the United States, died while on active duty, or who died as a result of a service connected disability but were not residents of Kentucky; require that the veteran be deployed from Kentucky; require that the veteran be married to a resident of Kentucky at the time of death.

HB 112 - AMENDMENTS


     HCA (1, F. Rasche) - Make correction to add qualifying event of deployment from the state and marriage to a resident to the residency provision.

     HFA (1, F. Rasche) - Delete new language and add a provision concerning deployment from the state and marriage to a resident as a qualifying event.

     HFA (2, M. Cherry) - Delete references to deployment and add "married to a Kentucky resident" as a qualifying factor for a tuition waiver.
