AN ACT relating to the cloning of humans.
Create a new section of KRS Chapter 436 to prohibit the cloning of human beings; direct the LRC to monitor any GAO studies relating to human cloning.
HB 138 - AMENDMENTS
SFA (1, T. Shaughnessy) - Include, in the definition of human cloning, the requirement that the procedure is performed with the intent to initiate a pregnancy; and provide that research not prohibited by federal regulations is not governed by the prohibition against human cloning.
SFA (2, D. Mongiardo) - Retain original provisions and require the first report to the Legislative Research Commission to be completed by October 1, 2002.
SFA (3, D. Mongiardo) - Retain original provisions and amend KRS 311.732 to require informed written consent of a minor and each parent before an abortion is performed.
SFA (4/Title, D. Mongiardo) - Make title amendment.
SFA (5, T. Shaughnessy) - Exempt research or treatment consistent with federal regulations from the prohibition against cloning.
