AN ACT relating to retirement.
Amend KRS 61.552 to allow hazardous employees in the Kentucky Retirement Systems to purchase air time at 15 years rather than 20 but not allow the time to qualify for normal or early retirement.
HB 427 - AMENDMENTS
HCS/AA - Amend KRS 61.552 to provide that nonhazardous, as well as hazardous, may purchase air time after 15 years although the time cannot be used to retire prior to 20 years of actual service.
SFA (1, M. Long) - Provide that members who purchase five years of retirement service credit who are over sixty-five years of age be exempt from the requirement of working at least two hundred and forty months of actual service before applying the service credit toward their retirement benefit; provide that the members who are at least sixty-five who do not have two hundred forty months of actual service are exempt from being required to receive the payment plus interest as a refund upon retirement, death or written request after termination.
