AN ACT relating to stopping distances at railroad crossings.
Amend KRS 189.550 to increase the stopping distances prior to a railroad crossing by vehicles transporting children from between 10 and 30 feet to between 15 and 50 feet; amend KRS 189.560, relating to stopping distances for all vehicles at unsafe railroad crossings, and KRS 189.565, relating to stopping distances for vehicles transporting inflammable liquids or explosives, to conform.
HB 498 - AMENDMENTS
HCS - Retain original provision of the bill and include in each section a provision that if visibility is impaired at a crossing, the driver may, after stopping, allow the vehicle to slowly roll forward to gain the required visibility.
