AN ACT relating to volunteer firefighters.
Amend KRS 61.315 to include volunteer firefighters among the qualified recipients of a $50,000 loss of life state benefit if killed in the line of duty; repeal KRS 61.316 to conform.
HB 519 - AMENDMENTS
SFA (1, E. Tori) - Amend KRS 61.315 to increase the payments to firefighters and other emergency personnel payable upon death in the line of duty from $50,000 to $75,000; amend KRS 61.316 to increase payments made by foundation program fund to volunteer firefighters from $25,000 to $75,000; create a new section of KRS Chapter 95A to provide a monthly payment of $200 each for life insurance and health insurance for firefighters permanently and totally disabled in the line of duty, and provide for administration of program.
