AN ACT relating to the employment of deputy sheriffs.
Amend KRS 70.030 to require that deputy sheriffs who receive moneys from the Kentucky Law Enforcement Foundation Fund Program in counties containing a city of the first or second class or an urban-county government, but without a deputy sheriff board, shall continue their term of employment when sheriffs are newly elected or appointed; specify that deputies shall only be removed, suspended, or reduced in pay for misconduct, insubordination, or a violation of law; allow newly elected or appointed sheriffs to demote chief deputies.
