HB 590/AA (BR 1425) - A. Arnold, J. Gray

     AN ACT relating to the Kentucky Judicial Form Retirement System.
     Create new sections of KRS Chapter 21 to establish the Kentucky Judicial Retirement Plan excess benefit plan and provide for its administration; delete provisions in KRS 21.370 (judicial) and KRS 6.515 (legislative) that limit those individuals who can purchase air time and previous service credit for domestic relations commissioner, trial commissioner, United States or military service, to those judges and legislators that were in office on June 21, 2001 and who were in active contributing status to the retirement systems on June 21, 2001; amend provisions to allow direct trustee-to-trustee transfer between retirement systems for the purchase of retirement credit, if authorized by the Internal Revenue Code.

HB 590 - AMENDMENTS


     HCS/AA - Retain original provisions of the bill except delete provisions in Section 3 and 4 which affect beneficiary purchases and military service credited to another defined benefit system to make them conform to federal law; amend KRS 6.525 to provide that the Legislator Retirement Plan mirror the Judicial plan under provisions KRS 21.370 to 21.410.
