HB 639/FN/CI (BR 2182) - P. Clark
AN ACT relating to penalties for a violation of traffic regulations.
Amend KRS 189.990 to increase the penalty for leaving the scene of an accident; provide that if a person is seriously injured or killed, the person leaving the scene shall be guilty of a Class D felony; provide that person is subject to current penalty if a person in the accident receives minor injuries; amend KRS 281A.190 to conform.
HB 639 - AMENDMENTS
HCS/FN - Delete previous version and create two new sections of KRS Chapter 520 to define the crimes of leaving the scene of an accident in the first degree and in the second degree; amend KRS 189.580 to delete subsection (1) and to add a 48-hour requirement under the previous subsection (2); and amend KRS 186.560, 189.990, 189.999, 431.005, 431.015, and 431.410 to conform.
